FULL-TIME COOKS SERVING HOME COOKED MEALS DAILY

DELICIOUS HOME COOKED MEALS

One thing about Newfoundland hospitality is that you’ll never go hungry. We serve home cooked meals from full-time journeyman cooks on staff at all of our lodges. Your mornings start with a lumberjack-style breakfast, so your day of hunting starts off right. Then we pack your lunch to take into the field. At midday, your guide will light a fire, and you can have a good old-fashioned mug-up and tell a few stories.

Dinner each evening is a culinary delight. For example, the menu ranges from turkey dinner, pork chops, salmon and cod to lasagna, roast beef dinner and steak night, as well as traditional Newfoundland foods. Finally, delicious homemade desserts top off every meal. Because hunting days are long, every plate is hearty and filling.

Allergies, Special Diets and Drinking Water

Please let us know about any food allergies or special needs when you book your hunt, so our cooks can plan for you. We also supply bottled water for drinking, and you can pack it into the field each day with your lunch. To learn more about local food culture, visit Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism. For the rest of your stay, see our hunting lodges, spike camps and hunting packages, which all include breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of your hunt.

Home Cooked Meals and Newfoundland Traditions

Meals are also a big part of the fun at camp. On the last night, for example, many guests take part in our optional Screech-In ceremony, which makes you an honorary Newfoundlander. In fact, past hunters often mention the food and the hospitality as highlights of their trip. So come hungry, because there is always plenty to go around.
