Our seasons run from the second week of September through the second week of November. Spring black bear runs May and June.
Eastern Canadian Moose, Woodland Caribou and Black Bear. Coyote and wolf hybrid hunting is unlimited with all packages.
Newfoundland, and nowhere else on earth. We built our helicopter fly-in lodge where the caribou migrate from their calving grounds to their rutting grounds, surrounded by the Middle Ridge and Bay du Nord wilderness reserves, home to the largest population of woodland caribou in the world.
Sometimes. We run a caribou hunt from the main lodge for hunters who would rather not fly, or when a tag comes available, but the fly-in lodge is how this hunt is normally run.
Yes. Moose and black bear combine, black bear or moose can be added to the President’s Club caribou hunt, and the Newfoundland Grand Slam takes all three in one seven-day expedition.
Better than 90% success on Eastern Canadian moose, with 95 to 100% opportunity. On woodland caribou we hold a 100% hunting opportunity guarantee, and we have had a 100% success rate on woodland caribou for two decades.
Opportunity means the guide put you on a legal animal within range. Whether the shot goes home is on the hunter. We’d rather say that straight than quote a number that hides a missed shot.

No. Some outfitters sell lower-priced hunts on cows or younger bulls. We don’t. Every moose hunt we run is a trophy bull hunt. If a hunter decides to take a smaller bull, that is his choice.
A wounded animal counts as your tag whether it is recovered or not. Your guide will track a hit animal as long as there is a trail, but the tag is considered used once blood is drawn. The full policy is on the wounded animal policy page.
Your guide field-dresses, capes and de-bones your bull, and has the meat frozen in our 24-hour freezers ready for the flight home.
They go to a Newfoundland taxidermist. Shipping arrangements from there are yours to make, and we will point you to the people we use.
Yes. Spouses and companions are welcome at the main lodge and on the helicopter fly-in hunts. The only place a non-hunter cannot go is a remote spike camp. Non-hunter rates are on the hunting packages and rates page.
At the main lodge, the helicopter fly-in lodge or a remote spike camp, depending on your package. At the main lodge every hunter gets their own room, and couples or non-hunting guests stay in a guest bedroom. The remote camps have bunk beds. Every lodge and camp has hot showers and Starlink internet, and both lodges run fully on solar power, so charging a phone or running a sleep machine is no problem. See hunting lodges and spike camps.
Three home-cooked meals a day. A cook prepares the meals at the lodges, and at the spike camps your guide does the cooking. The home cooked meals page shows what that looks like.
A .243 is the legal minimum. We strongly recommend a .270 or larger.
Yes. See the bow and muzzleloading page.
A non-resident firearm declaration from the RCMP. A full gear list is in our hunter’s gear list.
Fly into St. John’s International Airport. The drive to and from the airport is included in your package. Details are on the transportation page.
One of our guides, all of them experienced Newfoundland hunters. You can read about them on the hunting guides page.
