Our spring bear hunt runs in May and June in central eastern Newfoundland. Hunters sit in tree stands over bait in a variety of proven locations. This gallery shows guests from the 2026 spring bear hunt, and we also update it as new photos come in. Have a look at the photos below, and then call us to save a spot for next spring.
First of all, each hunter gets a 1×1 professional guide, lodge or spike camp accommodations and three home-cooked meals a day. The 7-day hunt includes 2 bear tags and costs $10,500 USD, which also covers all tags, licenses and the 15% provincial tax. A 50% deposit holds your dates, and the balance is then due 90 days before the hunt.
Bowhunters and muzzleloader hunters are welcome too, so see our bow and muzzleloading hunts for details. If you would rather spot and stalk, our fall black bear hunt runs from September through November instead. In addition, a bear makes a great add-on to a moose hunt, so ask about combo packages.
Getting here is simple. We provide free transport between St. John’s airport and the lodge or camp, so you can fly in, settle in and start hunting. Our lodges offer hot showers, comfortable sleeping quarters and cell service, while our spike camps sit in remote hunting country. Field dressing and capping are also included.
For full details, see our Newfoundland black bear hunting page, the hunting packages and rates, and our hunt dates and details. We are also proud members of the Newfoundland and Labrador Outfitters Association. Finally, call Dean at 1-709-685-2463 to book your dates.
